Job Duties:
The job specifications involve skilled farm labor for the purpose of preparing for and performing duties of potato harvesting.
Conducts pre-operation inspections and performs basic service/maintenance tasks.
Operate potato harvesting equipment, including tractors, harvesters, wind rowers, crop carts, pilers, forklifts, bobcat and washline equipment.
Handle potatoes in a manner so they are not damaged.
Removal and clean-up of harvest debris.
Perform routine and basic repair work on farm equipment in field.
Calibrate equipment as necessary.
Unloading, grading, sizing, of potatoes
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures
Conduct thorough and accurate pre-operation inspections on agricultural equipment, including farm trucks.
Safely and correctly drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools. Perform duties in accordance with established safety standards and proper vehicle operation techniques.
Attach trailers.
Safely and correctly loading/unloading of hoppers, containers, trailers with potatoes.
Use front end loaders or conveyers to unload potatoes.
Ensure all equipment is in good condition prior to operation. Report any concerns to a manager.
Operate equipment to ensure potatoes are correctly and evenly distributed in the trailer.
Weigh crop-filled containers at the farm location, record weights and other identifying information as required.
Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions.
Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery.
Follow driving instructions to and from the growing location.
Communicate with field & farm employees in a courteous, professional manner.
Perform general farm work as needed.
Full time supervision is provided and all tools are provided at no cost.

Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Job qualifications for the position include experience operating a bobcat, forklift, tractors, washline equipment, and other general agriculture equipment.
3 months experience performing these duties within the past 2 years.
Employees must hold a driver's license (such as standard Class C) that allows them to operate a vehicle in the United States or be able to obtain one upon hire.
Driving farm field trucks over 26,000 pounds will be required.
A Motor Vehicle Report will be conducted on employees that will be driving. The employer will cover expenses related to the MVR.
Drug screening and Motor Vehicle Report is conducted post-offer, post-hire, can be random and is at no cost to the worker. Drug testing is required due to operation of equipment that can be dangerous if operating while impaired.
A drug test will be conducted post hire, paid for by the employer, for employees that will be driving, as well.
Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during work shift.
Routinely required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, and reach, in the performance of job function.
Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing.
Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus as needed.
Must be able to pass random and required drug and alcohol tests.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts (Updated 04/07/2026). Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
