Position Summary: Operate chemical manufacturing processes according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Responsibilities will include:

  • Regulatory Requirements:
    • Follow company's Quality, Health, Environmental & Safety (QHE&S) and ISO 9001 standards and procedures.
    • Never compromise safety of any team members, customers, suppliers, or the environment.
    • Follow all process SOPs to ensure quality product and data is produced.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Learn and operate multiple chemical processes in a timely manner.
    • Perform analytical tests on raw materials and final products.
    • Record and monitor multiple parameters, such as process conditions, test results, and instrument readings. Be able to make adjustments based on data.
    • Communicate with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, accuracy, and product quality.
    • Move raw materials and products with a forklift or hand dolly.
    • Charge raw materials to process, monitor process waste, and pack out final products.
    • Continually look to develop process improvements to enhance quality, safety, and productivity.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team on a rotational 24/5 or 24/7 basis based on customer demand and needs of the business.
    • Perform minor maintenance and housekeeping activities in their area as directed by the production leader.

Required Experience & Knowledge:

  • Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred – Some college course work, military experience, or some manufacturing experience

Physical Demand:

  • Lifting requirement of approximately 50 pounds multiple times during a shift.
  • Standing/walking for long periods of time.
  • Climbing manufacturing platforms, ladders, and stairs.
  • Ability and willingness to wear a full-face respirator.

Work Environment: Manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise level. Will work with hazardous chemicals and require proper handling and personal protective equipment. Temperatures can vary based on ambient temperature outside, may be exposed to both extreme heat and cold. Typical of production area: occasional noise, heat, fumes and dust.

The salary range for the position of Chemical Operator is $20 - $23 per hour. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law. This salary range is provided in good faith and is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for all statewide locations across the United States. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.
