About the Role

Field Interviewers play a key role in collecting confidential survey data that informs critical social research. This opportunity is well suited for someone who is empathetic, communicates clearly and transparently, and is comfortable working independently. As an independent contractor , you’ll have flexibility to determine your own schedule and manage your work in a way that works best for you while meeting project requirements and deadlines.

 

Using a company-provided tablet and software, Field Interviewers will contact pre-identified participants to conduct surveys by phone, Zoom, or in-person. You’ll work independently while coordinating with our research team as needed to support accurate, ethical, and high-quality data collection. our work will help elevate the voices and experiences of individuals receiving state-supported services.

 

About the Project

Vital Research, in partnership with the State of Wyoming, is seeking contracted Field Interviewers for a statewide project focused on assessing the quality of life and satisfaction of individuals receiving state-supported services. This project will begin with a mandatory two-day training in the Cheyenne area on October 7-8 and is expected to continue through May of 2027, or until all surveys are completed. The goal of this initiative is to gather meaningful feedback to inform and improve service delivery in key areas such as:

  • Access to essential services
  • Communication with providers and case managers
  • Choice and quality of services
  • Medical transportation
  • Personal safety
  • Community inclusion and empowerment

Key Responsibilities

  • Reach out to participants from a provided list and schedule/complete surveys
  • Conduct 1 survey per day or 5 surveys per week using assigned tools and protocols
  • Accurately capture participant responses using company-provided tablets and software, with high attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Maintain professionalism, empathy, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions
  • Communicate regularly with the research team for updates and support
  • Utilize provided translation service to administer surveys as needed to non-English-speaking participants, undergoing training to use systems properly.

  • Have worked with aging, disabled, or underserved populations
  • Are comfortable contacting participants by phone, video, or in-person
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Are comfortable using tablets, downloading mobile apps, and using other digital tools to complete tasks efficiently
  • Enjoy working independently and managing your own schedule
  • Have access to a personal vehicle for in-person interviews

 

Compensation & Flexibility

  • Pay is per completed survey , with rates varying by method (phone, Zoom, or in-person)
  • $80 per completed phone interview.
  • $85+ per completed video interview.
  • $95+ per completed in-person interview, depending on travel distance.
  • You control your schedule—we only ask that 5 surveys are completed weekly
  • Training and orientation are provided as follows:
  • $50 upon completion of pre-training modules
  • $300 upon completion of virtual training
  • $50 upon completion of a skills assessment and mock interview
