Job Description

Forefront Solutions is growing and seeking an experienced Low-Voltage System Installer (Level III) to play a crucial role in complex commercial projects. This is a field position where you’ll run day-to-day work on mid-size jobs, handle advanced troubleshooting, perform basic/intermediate system programming, and mentor junior technicians. It’s also a key step toward Lead Technician and Senior Lead roles.

What You’ll Do

- Install and integrate low-voltage systems: structured cabling (data/voice/video), racks/cabinets, patch panels, and cabling for CCTV, access control, intrusion, and fire alarm interfaces.

- Troubleshoot complex copper and fiber issues (faults, cross-talk, interference, performance problems) using certifiers, OTDR, and other test equipment.

- Support commissioning and close-out with testing, documentation, and punch-list resolution.

- Perform basic to intermediate programming for access control, CCTV/NVR systems, and fire alarm/intrusion panels within company guidelines.

- Help with small-scale design and layout (mark up floor plans/risers, suggest routes and device placement, assist with rough BOMs).

- Lead Level I/II techs on site, manage daily start-up/wrap-up, and coordinate with GCs, site contacts, and other trades.

- Model safe work practices and reinforce BICSI/TIA/EIA/NEC low-voltage standards.

What We’re Looking For

- 2–5+ years of low-voltage installation experience (structured cabling plus at least one of: access control, CCTV, intrusion, or fire alarm integration).

- Expert skills installing copper (Cat5e/Cat6), coax, and fiber; racks/cabinets; patch panels; and cable management.

- Proven advanced troubleshooting ability for cabling and connectivity issues.

- Experience with basic/intermediate programming on common low-voltage/security platforms.

- Familiarity with BICSI best practices, TIA/EIA standards, and local/national low-voltage codes.

- Able to lead small crews, communicate clearly with customers and teammates, and keep work organized and on schedule.

- Comfortable with frequent standing, bending, ladder/lift work, lifting 40–50 lbs, and working on active construction sites; willing to work overtime/nights/weekends as needed.

- Willing and able to travel occasionally to customer sites outside the immediate Clarksville area based on project and client needs.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to our company's office.

- BICSI Installer I/II and manufacturer certifications (S2, Fire-Lite, Potter, Paxton, Milestone, etc.) are a plus.

Growth Path

This Level III role serves as a bridge to leadership. High performers can progress to:

  • Lead Technician (Level 4) – running full crews, job planning, and on‐site coordination
  • Senior Lead Technician (Level 5) – overseeing multiple projects/crews and helping set field standards

Ready to Level Up?

If you’re a senior installer who wants more responsibility and a clear path to Lead Technician, we’d like to talk.

Location: Clarksville, TN (Field-Based)
Pay: $23.00–$29.50 per hour (DOE)
