The Regional Nurse Consultant will support Skilled Nursing Facilities in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.Responsibilities include:Overall support of the nursing departments for multiple facilities. Responsible for supporting the Director of Nursing and Administrator at each facility.The Clinical Resource helps provide input on, and support for, the implementation of strong clinical systems that result in the highest quality of care.The Clinical Resource supports the development and implementation of quality assurance measurements and audits, and assists in improving medical management processes throughout the skilled nursing facilities and market by coordinating and engaging in activities to proactively promote implementation of evidence based best practices.Supports the Director of Nursing for the provision of quality and appropriate resident / patient care that meets or exceeds company and regulatory standardsAssists in the preparation of annual budget for the facility. Monitors monthly performance of nursing services in relation to budget and intervenes as neededSchedules and performs rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing careAssists in Development and implementation of the written staffing plan and nursing schedule that reflects the needs of the resident and patient populationEvaluates current and potential residents and patients to determine and maintain living center’s ability to provide appropriate level of careThe Clinical Resource monitors, performs, and manages quality assurance processes including those supporting compliance to regulatory and/or accreditation standardsFunction as a clinical resource to the nursing administration team at each facilityProvide training to staff nurses to promote performance improvementProvide support during the survey process including pre-survey preparation and developing performance improvement plans post survey if necessaryMaintains regular and ongoing communication with the facility's Medical Director to identify educational needs for staff and provide quality care and services to meet the needs of residents.Monitors daily Clinical Start-up meeting with the interdisciplinary team to review resident and patient status on a regular basisCollects, reviews and analyzes clinical outcome data and determines trends.
