Coalition Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Remote Magento Developer to build, customize, maintain, and optimize Magento and Adobe Commerce websites. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Magento development, responsive web development, API integrations, and clean, well-documented code.

As a Magento Developer, you will work on Magento Community, Adobe Commerce, custom PHP, and other eCommerce platforms. You will convert Figma or PSD designs into pixel-perfect responsive Magento sites, build and customize themes and modules, resolve cross-browser compatibility issues, and support integrations with platforms such as Sage, QuickBooks, WordPress, Salesforce, APIs, and ERP or stock management systems.

Magento Developer Responsibilities

As a Magento Developer, your duties will include:

  • Working daily in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, Magento, Adobe Commerce, and the Zend Framework
  • Building Magento Community, Adobe Commerce, custom PHP, and other eCommerce websites
  • Converting Figma or PSD designs into pixel-perfect, responsive Magento and custom PHP sites
  • Developing and customizing Magento themes, plugins, modules, and frontend functionality
  • Supporting data migration, Magento module development, theme development, and headless or decoupled Magento implementations
  • Resolving cross-browser compatibility issues
  • Writing clean, structured, and well-documented code
  • Integrating data with Sage, QuickBooks, WordPress, Salesforce, APIs, and ERP or stock management systems
  • Working in a LAMP development environment
  • Using version control systems such as Git or SVN
  • Supporting multiple projects and tasks at the same time while maintaining quality, organization, and accuracy
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Expertise in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Strong Magento development experience
  • Ability to convert Figma or PSD designs into pixel-perfect, responsive Magento websites
  • Ability to work in a LAMP development environment
  • Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility and responsive web development
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks at the same time
  • Great attention to detail and a highly organized work style
  • Ability to articulate ideas and technical concepts professionally
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Ability to adapt to a diverse and multicultural remote work environment

  • Availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time
  • Reliable remote workstation, including a fast computer, microphone, speakers, reliable internet, and reliable power
Preferred Skills

The following experience is preferred but not required:

  • Experience with Adobe Commerce Cloud or Magento Commerce
  • Portfolio with live links to websites or eCommerce sites you have previously developed
  • Magento Certification
  • Expertise in other platforms such as WordPress
  • Experience with data migration, Magento plugin or module development, theme development, and headless or decoupled Magento implementations
  • Basic server management knowledge, including hosting configuration, performance tuning, or deployment processes
  • Experience with Progressive Web Apps, headless Magento architecture, Magento PWA Studio, Vue Storefront, or other modern frontend frameworks
  • Familiarity with GraphQL APIs, microservices-based architecture, and API-first integrations
  • Knowledge of AI/ML-driven eCommerce features, personalized recommendations, and Core Web Vitals performance optimization
  • Understanding of omnichannel commerce, including online stores, marketplaces, POS integrations, and scalable cloud deployment best practices
Remote Work Environment

Coalition Technologies is a fully remote company. Our team works remotely with the support of time tracking software, structured communication, and a company culture designed to help remote team members succeed. Compensation

For candidates located in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado , the starting base pay for this position ranges from $17 to $35 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority of the position offered. For candidates outside of California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, compensation may fall outside the listed range.
