Unalaska is a unique and diverse community with many opportunities. Unalaska Fire Dept. was established in 1974 and staffed by volunteer members of the community. Today that is still true, the majority of the staffing is provided by members of our community from all different backgrounds. Unalaska Fire has 5 full-time staff and a rolling contingent of approximately 25 volunteers.
Unalaska Fire is looking for motivated individuals to step up and serve their community. Unalaska Fire is an all hazards department and the first and last line of defense against disaster in Unalaska. If you feel you have something more to offer your community, call the Fire Department at 907-581-5330 for more information.
Volunteer firefighters do not adhere to a set schedule of working hours. Training for all department staff is held every Thursday from 6pm to 9pm and some Saturdays.
