You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management and communicate with accuracy, quality and timeliness.Essential Job FunctionsTake and record vital signs and EKGRoom patientsPrepare patients for examinationObtain and update patient medicationAdminister InjectionsAuthorizing prescription refills as directed by physiciansAssist In Vasectomy, Cystoscopy and Biopsy Procedures.Cleaning and Sterilizing Surgical Instruments.Clinical Supply inventoryCollect Urine/Blood SpecimensSurgical SchedulingPrior Authorizations for medications and radiologyRefills, Lab Orders, Lab resultsPAT's in ProgressUtilize EMR System, Microsoft Teams, Excel and Additional Hospital EMRsCustomer Service (greet patients and engage with providers/staff/vendors)Check In/ Check OutClerical dutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time, with or without notice.Education/ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalentMedical office experience (1 year preferred)Certified Medical AssistantBLS CertProven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary (1 year preferred)Knowledge of medical office management systems and proceduresExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and planning skillsWorking conditionsWork environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.Physical requirementsPosition requires moderate physical effort, standing/walking for more than 75 percent of the day, as well as lifting objects that weight up to 10 pounds. Position may include helping to lift/arrange patients.Direct reportsThis is not a supervisory position.
