Direct Support Professional (DSP) – $20-$21/hr + Mileage Reimbursement

Access Community Care (ACC) is hiring compassionate, dependable individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)/Personal Support Workers (PSWs) supporting adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in the Southeast and Portland areas.

No experience? No problem. We provide paid training and ongoing support to help you succeed. What You’ll Do

As a Direct Support Professional, you will:

  • Support individuals in achieving personal goals and greater independence
  • Assist with daily living activities while promoting dignity and choice
  • Provide transportation to appointments, errands, and community activities
  • Encourage participation in hobbies, recreation, and community events
  • Build positive relationships and provide emotional encouragement
  • Assist with budgeting and life skills development
  • Maintain accurate documentation including daily notes and progress reports
  • Support individuals in maintaining a safe, healthy living environment
  • Advocate for individual rights and community inclusion

This role may include active community outings such as walking, hiking, shopping, and attending local events.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time and part-time positions available
  • Day, evening, and weekend shifts may be available
  • Community-based/mobile work environment throughout the west side Portland metro area
  • Consistent hours based on participant needs

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Willingness to transport participants in your personal vehicle
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer and documentation skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable attitude

No Experience Required

Many successful DSPs come from backgrounds in:

  • Caregiving
  • Retail or customer service
  • Education
  • Behavioral health
  • CNA or healthcare support
  • Hospitality or human services
