Duties As a Public Health Analyst (Policy) you will: Apply public health principles to policy research.Develop, reports and presentations to inform senior management officials, CDC leadership, HHS, administration officials, and members of the legislative branch. Develops peer-review manuscripts.Develop new internal and external policies or recommendations based on changes in legislation, executive directives, Departmental issuances, or other key changes in voluntary practices by a highly influential organization.Perform independent policy research, and or policy evaluation, as well as other programmatic activities to further organization's goals and objectives.Responsible for ensuring that budget requests reflect the organization's priorities, and they are consistent with CDC/ ATSDR priorities.Serves as a point of contact for senior management officials within and external to the organization on all matters related to performance measurement, budget performance integration, and other goals management activities.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentUS Citizenship is required.Background Investigation is required.E-Verify: If you are selected for this position, the documentation that you present for purposes of completing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Form I-9 will be verified through the DHS "E-Verify" System. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 level of difficulty and responsibility in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience at or equivalent to which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience planning, formulating, analyzing, and implementing office policies to advance public health priorities and program operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
